Good Practice

The URC's Good Practice Third Edition was published in May 2004. At this time a copy was sent to all Church Secretaries. This includes guidelines relating to the recruitment and seletion of leaders, child protection, health and safety, procedures and policies. This edition also includes the process to access Criminal Record Bureau Checks through the Churches Agency for Safeguarding.

The Good Practice Guidelines can be accessed through the URC website by clicking here.

Contact the YCWT for advice on the implementation of the Good Practice Guidelines. The YCWT is available to lead sessions with elders or church meetings about the Good Practice Guidelines or to work alongside task groups in churches. Click here to ask a question about good practice.

The Synod has a Child Protection Officer who is available to advise and support churches on child protection issues.
