 Puppet Ministry for schools and children’s organisations [leaflet]
‘Harry and Friends Puppet Ministry’ is a church venture which may be of help in your children’s organisation. For a number of years our puppet team have been visiting a variety of schools (including special needs), homes, playgroups and other children’s establishments to conduct assemblies and other gatherings. Our sessions last about twenty to thirty minutes on average, but can be tailored to suit circumstances. Each time we visit we present a different topic, chosen as far as possible to compliment the teaching of the school or establishment concerned. We also produce special scripts to correspond with the time of year e.g., Christmas, Easter, Harvest, Halloween, etc. The puppet team consists of Auntie Barbara who plays herself and narrates the script through interaction with our life-size puppets. The other member of the team is the puppeteer who is not visible to the audience. We provide all equipment necessary including sound amplification. We do not make a charge, nor do we expect donations. Our scripts always include something of the Christian message and one or two modern children’s Christian songs. We aim not to be heavy handed with the Christian aspects of our scripts, nor are we overtly evangelistic. The aim of our ministry is to help children learn about God, but in a sensitive way through a modern media.
