CONTINUING MINISTERIAL EDUCATION (CME)

The purpose of CME is to develop ministry through educational development, practical training, personal and spiritual development.

The following are the components of CME:

On-going education and Training (ONET)

  • 2 weeks per year to attend courses
  • retreat
  • a reading week or refresher course

SABBATICALS
Ministers are entitled to three months sabbatical every 10 years. These are planned with the Development Officer and others AT LEAST nine months before sabbatical commences and accepted by District Council and Local Church.

Funding
Sabbatical grant £1200.00 for up to three months.

CME annual grant £700.00, this includes the full cost of courses, accommodation, travel and books.

Claims are made via the Development Officer 6 months in advance for Sabbaticals and 3 months for CME grants.

Belonging to the World Church Grant
Grants are available per minister once every 5 years. They cover accommodation, travel and particular costs related to travel overseas.

Travel to Europe and North America grant up to £350.00. Elswhere in the world but excluding the Holy Land up to £750.00.
