Synod Youth Exec
What? The Synod Youth Exec is a group of young people from the URC Churches across the Synod who get together 3 times a year for fellowship, fun, to enable the opinions of young people to be heard and to assist in the planning and organisation of Synod youth events.
Who? Anyone aged between 14 and 25, who want to be more involved in United Reformed Church life across the Southern Synod.
When? 18th – 19th February 2012

URC Children’s Assembly 2012
Advance notice:
What? Children’s Assembly is an opportunity for children aged 9-13 years to discuss and explore issues facing the church. It runs alongside the URC General Assembly. The children’s views will be shared with General Assembly in a variety of ways, including video link and a group presentation to the whole of General Assembly. This year, Southern Synod have 4 places to fill, all expenses paid.
When? Friday 6th – Monday 9th July 2012
Where? Scarborough.
Who? We are looking for 4 children to participate in Children’s Assembly on behalf of Southern Synod. They need to be involved in a United Reformed Church and willing to share their views. They would need to take 2 days off school and a letter will be available to explain to schools why this is should be considered as an approved absence because of its educational value. Transport will be arranged for the group with adult supervision.

Recent events for Children & Young People
URC Youth Assembly
The annual URC Youth Assembly took place on 27-29 January 2012. It is an event organised by young people for young people aged 14-25 years associated with the United Reformed Church. The weekend event gives young people from across England, Wales & Scotland the chance to meet like minded people, take part in workshops and have their voice heard with the URC. The weekend incorporates workshops, worship, entertainment and business sessions. As part of the business, members of FURY Advisory Board are elected and young people present motions for debate and decisions. To get a feel visit the blog.

‘PLAYTIME’
This event for children aged 5-11 was planned for the recent Synod Together on 5th November . The programme includes: playing games, play with bible stories, talking about children’s playground issues, and doing playful prayer activities.
