Information

THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH is the result of a sequence of church unions towards the close of the twentieth century: in 1972 the Congregational Church of England and Wales and the Presbyterian Church of England joined together; in 1981 the Re-formed Association of the Churches of Christ and the United Reformed Church united; followed in 2000 by the Congregational Church of Scotland and the United Reformed Church. Welcome

Welcome to the website of the United Reformed Church’s Southern Synod.

Over 10,000 people in 168 Churches make up the life and work of this branch of Christ’s Church.

Coastal and country, city and suburban, our context and lifestyles vary considerably but all of us in our own ways are striving to be “Christ’s people transformed by the Gospel, making a difference”, as the United Reformed Church puts it.

As you explore the website, you will discover more about who we are and what we do.   We are on a journey into new ways of being the Church, changing for the times in which we are set.   God is still speaking: calling, using and sustaining the Church as doers of God’s mission and that is the source of our purpose and hope.

Whatever your situation as you read this, we wish you an overflowing measure of God’s greatest gifts – love, joy and peace.
