• to share with churches issues and resources regarding social issues
• to receive ideas and concerns from local churches and to facilitate development
• to resource churches to engage in social action to enable effective mission and address social injustice
• to liaise with national bodies to disseminate information and resources to local churches

The United Reformed Church has given its support to the campaign for a ‘Robin Hood Tax’ (Financial Transaction Tax), launched today. You will no doubt have seen articles in the press and other media reports. We encourage you to read the news item on the URC website (www.urc.org.uk) and go to www.robinhoodtax.org.uk for full details.
Now a request! Calling all bloggers and tweeters! For the URC to become officially part of the campaign, we have to find:

• 5 key trusted bloggers we can send campaign details to in advance;

Are you a Fairtrade Church?

The link below lists all those churches in the Southern Synod who have registered as a Fairtrade church. If you haven't done so, then please print off and complete the Church Application Form and register with the Fairtrade Foundation. Once registered this will give you the right to display the Fairtrade certificate on your church premises.
